A case report of urinary ascites due to posterior urethral constriction in an infant

Abstract
The constriction of the posterior urethra resulting to urinary ascites in male is a very rare condition.
The etiology of the urethral constriction is devided into two conditions, congenital and aquired. The latter condition is resulted from the recurrent urinary infections occuring frequently in female.
A two-year-old boy has been having complaints of abdominal distension, symptoms of recurrent urinary infection and voiding difficulty for the last one year.
The radiograph of simple abdomen showed marked abdominal distension and tremendous enlargement of the kidpey shadow on either side.
The excretory urogram revealed an evidence of hydronephrosis, hydroureter on the both sides, vesicoureteral reflux and an obstruction of the vesical neck.
At surgery, an annular constriction of the posterior urethra at the vesical neck was confirmed.
